Educating the Whole Child.

Swedish Aspen Tree Classroom

3rd grade

As a third student at Greenwood Charter School our time is spent exploring topics related to animal adaptations, the water cycle, and education around the world. Our teachers specialize which gives students access to instruction from experts in the fields of ELA/reading and math/science. Students read both informational text and literature pieces on a variety of topics and use these pieces as models to guide our writing. We will also sharpen our skills in multiplication, division, and telling time.

a little about me

Email >

I am Ms. Hope. I have been teaching language arts in fifth grade for five years here at Greenwood, and I am so excited to be starting a new adventure in third grade language arts. I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Utah State University and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Western Governors University. After spending the last couple of years of working and taking classes, I am excited to focus more on my students and use what I have learned this year.

I am also grateful for a little more down time to spend with my family and friends. I love to be with my family, and you can usually find us laughing around a table while playing games. The only thing that tops that is spoiling my 2 nieces and nephew. I also love to be outside whether on a walk or camping in the mountains.

My biggest passion is reading, I love to get lost in a great book. Picking a favorite book is too hard when there are so many great ones, but I pick a favorite author every month or so. I am excited to help students develop that passion this year as we work on building more confidence with reading and comprehending what is read.

One of my favorite things about Greenwood is Crew. This is a meeting that we hold daily, but it is also a culture. Crew is about making everyone feel safe and welcomed no matter our differences. It is about working together to accomplish great things.

As we help each other and become a crew we will be able to have an amazing experience this year.

We are born makers. We move what we’re learning from our heads to our hearts through our hands.
